The centre for epilepsy and neurology is a dedicated day care centre for epilepsy and related paediatric neurology ailments. Started in 1999,the centre has treated thousands of patients with epilepsies. Apart from treatment of epilepsies and related neurological ailments, the centre for epilepsy also has remedial education services for dyslexia(learning disability) and child psychology services. We cater to a vast cross section of the population in North Kerala and also has patients from adjoining parts of Tamil nadu and Karnataka. The centre for epilepsy and neurology has become synonymous with epilepsy care amongst the public in north Kerala to a large extent.

Our Team

The center is lead by Dr Srikumar. G, MD, D.C.H, DIP N.B, D.M (A.I.I.M.S). Dr Srikumar has an experience of more than twenty five years of treating epilepsies. He is the first paediatric neurologist to practice in North Kerala. He is the senior consultant of our paediatric neurology and epilepsy services. He finished his D.M in Neurology from the prestigious A.I.I.M.S, Delhi in 1997, following which he started the neurology department at Indo American Brain and Spine Hospital near Kochi and then subsequently founded Center for Epilepsy and Neurology in 1999.

Today we are celebrating twenty five years of successful service in the Malabar region of Kerala.

Mrs Aruna Nambiar ,child psychologist .She has a rich experience in learning disability assessment and child psychology cases.
Mrs Anila is the special educator handling the dyslexia rehabilitation .
Mrs Vichithra, speech therapist.

Epilepsy facts

Epilepsy is defined as a disorder in which nerve cell activity in the brain is disturbed ,causing more than one seizures.Seizures can include changes to your awareness, muscle control,sensations, emotions and behavior.

Epilepsy can occur due to various causes- genetic ,acquired brain injury,trauma or stroke.It is presumed that there are more than one million cases per year in India.

Getting an appointment

You could make a telephonic appointment on any day except Sunday from 10 a.m till 6.p.m I.S.T. Our phone numbers are+91 0495 2369029 OR +91 97467 95465.If you are unable to call or get us on the line,you could email us at [email protected] to get an appointment.

We give a fixed number of appointments each day. We do not give the time of appointments since it has proved to be not effective. Patients with an appointment are seen on first come first served basis. Since our patients come from long geographical distances, we try to finish off the consultations and investigations the same day.

  The receptionist (old aged lady) has no basic manners how to talk to the patients.  She is very rude in behaviour.  She behaves like we are consulting the dr without any fees. The fees is very high comparing to other well reputed neurologists.  Due to the indecent behaviour of that old aged lady,  I have not consulted this centre.
